Calm in a world of crazy

Hello!

It’s been a while since my last post, but I don’t really believe in constantly bombarding people with me. It’s been crazy busy here, as I’ve had a million and one techie stuff to do. I’ve not reached the end of the list yet, but you’ll soon see things evolve here, including new stock in my store.

Thanks to all the new followers as well, it’s great that you’re now along on my journey with me and I hope you’ll love my art as much as I love creating it.

This work above pretty much sums up my feelings right now.. I’m so needing to still find time for the things in life that matter. Family. Relationships and friendships. I’ve learnt that also not taking time out for yourself isn’t worth it. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with a long list, so I’m trying to focus only on the next few steps rather than the whole damn kit and caboodle.

I hope you have a tremendously great week ahead my friends. Try to think of yourselves a bit too. Take that time you need. Don’t feel pressured to giving more than you are able too.

Art Days & Don’ts

One thing I’ve found out, much to my own detriment sometimes, is that there are days when I can create, draw and make significant progress. Other days it all goes to pot basically. No matter how hard I try, nothing really works or my hand to eye coordination is so off that I might as well scribble.

I now know… just to stop. Accept that today it’s just not gonna happen and leave well alone.

I make the most now of those good days. I no longer panic. I can’t force myself to work on something when my mind can be easily distracted. I’m ok with that.

When the going is good, I lose hours without noticing. I feel like I really have achieved something that visually represents where I’m at…

Art Collaborations & Features

Hello!

We are now in that strange time of year when we are waiting for 2018 to tick down and the New Year to start. I hope you are well and that 2019 is a great year for you.

I’ve had the chance to collaborate with two very talented friends and edit their amazing photographic work.

The first is with Kaylea Smith and this is an edit I did with her wonderful shot. Kaylea really does have a great eye for perspective.

The second is with my friend Gav Brickwood whom I’ve known now for 5 years. I’ve been an avid follower of his photography, he really is very inspiring. This is a real artsy edit of his work. This was a sculpture that he found whilst working in Nuremberg.

Big Thanks for letting me go artistically nuts with your work, Gav and Kaylea.

I’ve been lucky enough to have been featured in Instragram over the last few days and these are those images.

I’m always surprised when this happens, it helps to spread my art to a wider audience and I’ve met some really awesome people along the way.

And here last but not least is new art that I’ve just finished working on. It’s a floral illustration with some digital wizardry involved!

A huge Thank You to all of you! If you are on Instagram then drop by, follow and say hi! HAPPY NEW YEAR! See you in 2019!

from small things..

I’m hoping for inspiration..

This week has been a big push. Finally my online art store is open. I’ve pretty much been correcting bits and bobs all week. I’ve also been trying to navigate some kind of plan of what’s to come. I’ve needed some art time too, but even that’s been difficult to squeeze in.

I’m looking back over social media to see which of my artworks have been liked or featured the most. This will determine which art to add on my store to sell. I’ve learnt through social media that sometimes something that you think isn’t good enough to share, is in fact someone’s favourite. It’s a process that I think might take some time, but it’s always good to go back over what you’ve done before. It rekindles an interest in a process or media that you haven’t used in a while.

During this I came across this illustration from 2014. It’s still one of my personal favourites.

I’m now starting to doodle… back with an ink pen in my hand, whilst I’m thinking, from small things, Big things Grow.

Here is some new photography from this week. This was taken in my back garden with my Nikon, just as the full moon was rising.
